JT Torres
BlackBiography
JT Torres is an American Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and one of the most accomplished no-gi competitors of his generation. A two-time ADCC World Champion, Torres is known for his powerful top game, relentless pressure passing, and ability to dominate matches through positional control rather than risk-heavy exchanges.
Torres built his legacy through a style centered on heavy wrestling, explosive guard passing, and suffocating control from top position, making him one of the hardest athletes to sweep or submit in elite no-gi competition. His consistency across multiple ADCC cycles cemented his reputation as one of the most dependable and tactically sound grapplers in the sport.
Beyond competition, Torres is the head coach of Essential Jiu-Jitsu in New York, where he has produced world-class athletes and continues to influence modern grappling through disciplined training methods and a pressure-focused approach to no-gi jiu-jitsu.
