Overview
Atos Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most influential modern grappling teams in the world, founded by Andre Galvao and Ramon Lemos. Based out of its headquarters in San Diego, California, Atos became known for its structured curriculum, technical innovation, and highly competitive training environment that has produced numerous world champions in both gi and no-gi disciplines.
The academy offers a wide range of programs, including gi and no-gi classes, women’s classes, and a comprehensive kids’ program, all built around instruction from world-class black belts and a strong focus on competition preparation. Atos also operates a major online instructional platform, Atos BJJ On Demand, which features thousands of hours of technique breakdowns from Galvão and other team leaders. Beyond its headquarters, Atos maintains a large global affiliation network with locations throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
In recent years, Atos has maintained a strong presence in major competitions and has been part of several notable rivalries with other top teams, including New Wave Jiu-Jitsu. High-level matchups between athletes from these teams across events such as ADCC, WNO, and IBJJF championships have helped shape the current competitive landscape and reinforced Atos as one of the premier forces in submission grappling.
