BlackBiography
Faris Ben-Lamkadem is a British professional grappler and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Roger Gracie, with additional long-term training under Charles Negromonte. He is regarded as one of the most successful male competitors to emerge from the United Kingdom.
Faris Ben-Lamkadem rose to prominence in the colored belt divisions, earning major results in both gi and no-gi, including first place at the 2019 No-Gi Euros as a purple belt. He received his black belt in July 2022. In 2024, he achieved a historic milestone for British grappling when he was officially awarded the IBJJF No-Gi Worlds title, becoming the first British male athlete to win an IBJJF adult black belt world title.
Although he represents the Roger Gracie Academy for his official lineage, Faris Ben-Lamkadem has also trained extensively with the London based Los Bandidos team, sharpening his no-gi systems. His submission-focused style is well-rounded, with his highest percentage finishes coming from the rear naked and the armbar. In addition to competing, he has taken on coaching roles, notably serving as the coach for Team Europe at CJI 2.
