Biography

Beatriz Mesquita is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and one of the most decorated female grapplers in the history of the sport. Known for her explosive athleticism, razor-sharp technique, and complete, well-rounded skill set, Mesquita has dominated both gi and no-gi competition for over a decade. Her ability to seamlessly blend pressure passing, guard work, wrestling entries, and strong submission chains has made her a perennial force in every major tournament.

A multiple-time IBJJF World Champion, ADCC champion, and one of the winningest athletes of all time, Mesquita developed her game under the guidance of Leticia Ribeiro and the Gracie Humaita lineage. In no-gi, she is known for her precise back-taking sequences, aggressive passing style, and disciplined positional control. She is extremely difficult to score on, highly tactical, and possesses a strong finishing arsenal—particularly her rear naked and armbar. Her ability to dominate from everywhere—top, bottom, and standing—has cemented her as one of the most complete female competitors ever.

Beyond her competitive success, Mesquita has become a respected instructor and ambassador for women’s jiu-jitsu, helping grow the sport globally. Her longevity at the elite level, technical depth, and championship mindset continue to influence and inspire the next generation of female athletes in both gi and no-gi grappling.

Mesquita is also an active MMA fighter signed with the UFC, where she has already shown the same intensity, athleticism, and technical sharpness that defined her jiu-jitsu career. With her elite grappling background and rapidly improving all-around MMA skill set, she is widely expected to achieve major success in the sport.
